Imani Youth Foundation is a nonprofit organization that serves the youth of Memphis and Atlanta since 2009. The organization’s purpose is to help enrich the lives of young people through life building activities and instruction in the areas of education, character building, leadership development, mentoring, and community service.
Since its founding, IYF has facilitated numerous community service events to enhance the lives of youth and provided services and resources to youth through educational programming, camps and retreats and workshops.
Our YouthAdvisory Council was established in 2012 and has been involved in numerous humanitarian projects throughout Memphis and Atlanta.
At Imani Youth Foundation, our vision is to encourage youth to look beyond their boundaries, discovering who they desire to be and believing it’s possible.
Our mission is to build community where youth have aspirations and believe that through faith, commitment and hard work those aspirations can become reality. To bring this to fruition we reach into various communities throughout Memphis and Atlanta and work with and for youth to help them learn to build a sturdy foundation that leads to a strong future. To accomplish this in the short term we create and implement programs to meet the needs of the youth we serve. To effect long term youth development, we work to increase awareness of the issues facing youth and solicit, engage and mobilize the support of the community to expand the boundaries of the youth we serve.
In developing the Youth Advisory Council The mission was “equip young people to empower the world”. We do this by training youth leaders to become the foremost providers of youth leadership development by partnering with communities and creating more caring, responsible and productive citizens.
